RAINBOW TROUT
Rainbow trout is a very popular fish among the Finnish households and is also by far the most farmed fish in Finland. Around 90% of all farmed fish is rainbow trout, and most of the fisheries located in the Finnish archipelago, just like ours.
The right feed can have a significant impact on the healthiness of the fish. We raise our rainbow trout with ecological Finnish feed. The key ingredients in the feed (fishmeal and fish oil) come from our own fishmeal factory. We have also invested in efficient supply chain. The fish are raised near the processing facilities and with this, an effective cold chain is established. This guarantees a quality product.
We produce hot-smoked, cold-smoked and gravad (slightly salted) rainbow trout, which are strongly represented in the Finnish festive occasions. The roe from rainbow trout is also a very sought-after product. Because of the demand from institutional kitchens, a large proportion of our rainbow trout is processed as frozen food. Some of our products are also available fresh.
EUROPEAN WHITEFISH
Whitefish has raised its profile among the Finnish households. Farming whitefish has also become more common in Finland and now, a significant proportion of it is farmed. Whitefish has been farmed in Finland for over 20 years.
Our whitefish is farmed in the Finnish archipelago. The right feed can have a significant impact on the healthiness of the fish. We raise our whitefish with ecological Finnish feed. The key ingredients (fishmeal and fish oil) come from our own fishmeal factory.
A large proportion of our whitefish is sold as it is or as fillets.
HERRING
Herring is part of the traditional Finnish cuisine. As a foodfish it´s inexpensive and nutritious. It´s nutritional value is excellent and cooking possibilities are endless. When properly prepared, the herring is a delicacy, which is enjoyed by numerous Finns.
Herring is a wild fish. It´s Finland´s most important fish by catch numbers as well as by value. We acquire our herring through a partnership. The herring is caught from the Baltic Sea (FAO 27.3d).
OTHER FISH
We also provide perch, pike-perch and char fillets. The fish come from the Baltic Sea. We seek quality with the wild fish as much as with the ones we raise.
Our aim is to provide as much domestic fish as possible. If the availability is low for the domestic species, we prioritize other regional fish.
